Continuous Post Nasal Drip Driving Me Crazy

Sorry to gross anybody out....
Unlike some folks here, I've been an absolute physical mess for a year. At least I never got covid.. I had saciatica for 12 months which left me faced-down the entire time, and that ain't good for ya, but a Rx for cymbalta did kill the pain, but the side effects were a problem, but the withdrawal side effects were also awful... I'm off it now forever, but my adorable doctor (he's a doll, and one of the many Patels) and I were both a little worried that I might have suffered a small stroke over the last month....
He's not reactive by nature medicallynor am I but we had to take the worst-case scenario into consideration; yesterday, he came to the decision, the bizarre symptoms I'd been experiencing, were likely to be just those withdrawal side effects; this week, I'm getting a Rx for prozac, my favorite ant-depressant; it's by about damned time.
Unconnected to any of this, I've had this gross, gaggy white exudate on the back of my throat for weeks which has left me perpetually nauseous and with no desire to to live. To my surprise, he diagnosed it as Post-nasal drip (not as exotic as I'd guessed).
I'm currently gargling with warm salty water with lemon juice. Any suggestions?
I just rinsed my eyes with nasal wash -- it's all saline....

I've never experienced post-nasal drip but, in general, I am a big believer in keeping the sinuses clear. I used to use a neti pot with a saline rinse, but have since switched to something more high tech. In either case, I rinse every morning and never have issues with congestion or allergies.

I've never had a post nasal drip either but I know people that have. I've heard that using over the counter antihistamines, decongestants and nasal sprays all help. As well as sleeping with a humidifier in the room.

Tonight I take an anti-histamine while I chew some jalapenos (which are great decongestants, as one might imagine. My mini-neti arrives tomorrow;I'm soooooo sick of feeling so sick all the time nowadays. I also have a lot of chills on my left, and also a lot of sweats on my left, I spontaneously drool out of the left side of my mouth, especially when I try to sleep.
Weird.

Really sorry you have been so unwell and I hope it wasn't a stroke!
I really do recommend the saline for the post nasal drip however you may need antibiotics. I get this all the time and a couple of times it's developed into a nasty infection and I've lost my voice. That's not to mention the headaches which make life impossible. Hot port and lemon is also a nice soother.
It feels like a seizure when this happens

Sorry to hear you have been under the weather @Snarky's Ghost - a CT scan would confirm if you had a stroke (but I wouldnt like to get sick in USA! Thank goodness for our NHS!)
I had never heard of this condition until last year when a patient had it written in their past medical history and we all google things we dont know!
Found this leaflet
Also a lot of our patients get excessive drooling and Docs write them up for a hyoscine patch which dries up secretions
Might be worh asking..
Good luck + hope you feel better soon

The sinus- cleaning special sauce seems to be a gentle blend of table salt and baking soda dissolved in a lukewarm bottle ofsaline.
